Harrier’s accreditations

Harrier Pneumatics holds a number of accreditations that give our customer confidence in the quality and safety of our work. Two of them have recently been renewed, meaning that our engineers have been measured against the standards of their work in the post Covid world.

SafeContractor Accreditation

The process of gaining SafeContractor accreditation is rigorous. It starts with a comprehensive questionnaire in an online accreditation portal. The company’s risk management processes are then audited and once the required standards are met accreditation is approved a certificate issued. There is also a lower tier of SafeContractor Membership, but Harrier hold the highest accreditation approval. SafeContractor is an accreditation that does exactly what it says. It demonstrates to potential clients that you meet specifics of health and safety as laid down in the details of the accreditation process. Harrier Pneumatics also hold CHAS the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme. This is a pre-approval scheme that many businesses require as part of their tendering process. The two health and safety accreditations are valuable for customers in a number of industries where requirements for contractors may differ.

ISO9001:2015

The other accreditation that has recently been renewed is ISO9001. The latest 2015 update of the quality assessment standard places much greater emphasis on processes. The entire focus of the ISO 9001:2015 requirements is to encourage a comprehensive process approach to quality management. For a business like Harrier which works in a process lead industry this can demonstrate the effectiveness of pour quality management systems clearly. Our certificates says that it covers the scope of “the design, supply, development, installation, service, repair, hire and commissioning of air compressors, pneumatic control equipment and their associated equipment”. Our new ISO 9001:2015 certificate also covers our air quality audits.

Having mentioned earlier that the SafeContractor scheme measures the risk management processes of the business, ISO 9001:2015 focuses on risk-based thinking. This goes beyond traditional risk management to become a fundamental way of thinking and decision making throughout the entire organisation. To achieve ISO certification, businesses must demonstrate risk-based thinking at all levels, from business objectives and strategies, through systems, processes, and products. In a business dealing daily with high pressure air systems and helping customers reduce contamination in their compressed air system, working from a clear risk-based strategy is clearly essential.

These two recent awards mean that Harrier Pneumatics engineers are fully equipped to support you in a safe working environment. Whether they are carrying out air quality audits, leak testing or repairing and installing equipment you can be sure that Harrier’s team have a well-defined understanding of their responsibilities to your site and staff. Get in touch to discuss how we can support your compressed air system requirements.
